Fabric Flower Favor Bouquet
As I was getting ready for the Avant Garde Craft Show in Westlake, I came up with an additional way to display my flower clips. I made them into a favor bouquet. What is special about the bouquet is that it can be dismantled at the end of a special event and each flower can be given away as a favor to attending guests. The flower clips are attached to ribbons which crisscross a styrofoam sphere. Green silk leaves mounted on wires fill in the spaces in between the flowers. It was really a fun thing to make. It could easily morph into a pomander or handheld bouquet.

Yellow Fabric Flower for Wendy
A client asked for a yellow fabric flower, so I made several and she would have a choice. These flowers are the orgami petal fold and most of them are double petals. Very fun. She picked the one with the purple center.
For Cindy
A friend of mine has a coat of her daughter's and wants to extend the sleeve length. However there isn't enough seem allowance to make the change. I suggested adding ribbed cuffs. I did the same alteration for one of my husband's pullovers. I took out the elastic and added ribbed cuffs to each sleeve, there by extending the length of the sleeves. Cindy please consider this option. I think it would work for your daughter's jacket. Cheers!

Hand Dyed Silk Flower
Barb Bloom of Images in Bloom was a vendor at Vermilion in Bloom's Gardeners Fair. She asked me to make something out of one of her hand dyed scarves. I made two orgami petal flowers.
Dress Hem Turned Fabric Flower
This flower came from a hem remnant. It was a woven textual purple black fabric. Again thick, so it will turn into a pin rather than a hair clip.
Clare's Stitching Post Pin Cushion
Clare's Stitching Post of Vermilion, OH had me create a product display. I was supplied with the needle work, foam, batting, box, ribbon, and wooden cradle. I fashioned it all into a pin cushion. Clare's Stitching Post specialized in needlework supplies. They are wonderful!
Formal #18
This red formal is I think my favorite of the season. It started off as very revealling. The midrift is completely sheer. The client wanted more coverage in the bust area. The cups were partially sheer as well. I lined the cups with red satin taken from the hem remnant and then added seven half circle petals gathered across the top edge.

Skirt Hem Repurposed into a Flower Pin
A client asked for a rush on 5 lined skirt hems. I said yes, and was able to salvage enough scrap from one of the hems to make a flower pin. The fabric was a textured woven blue with a bit of irridecences. It was a thicker and heavier flower and rather than adding a hair clip, I added a pin back. The customer decided to buy it when she picked up her hemmed garments. Success!
Bathing Suit Shell
This is a bathing suit for a client who wanted a little bit more coverage. I created the white stretch knit shell at the top of the suit and added the flat ruffle at the bottom. The shell is edged with white bias tape. It was a challenging job.
Formals #12 through #16
Prom dress season is coming to its height. I won't say much about these dresses other than they required alterations and I did them, happily. Check out these beautiful dresses.

Converted Wedding Dress Pillow
A client asked me to make a decorative pillow and garter out of her wedding dress. She was married in the 1970s and her dress was modestly beaded and simple. Her daughter is getting married and she plans to use the pillow in the ceremony to hold the rings. The pillow features the bodice front. I padded out the bust slightly to give it extra contour. The pillow has a cotton foundation,an invisible zipper, and down filled pillow form. The garter is made from the gowns bottom edge and the lace was taken from the veil. The fabric flower in the picture is my own additional embellishment.

fabric flowers designs
Here are a few new fabric flower designs. Two of which have a second fabric contrasting and accenting the petals. Each petal requires an orgami folding technique.
