Perfected zipper rosettes

Ever perfecting, I am trying to stream line the production of my zipper rosettes. I have decided to put less embellishment on them and stick with the zipper theme by including a zipper pull on each pin or hair clip. I am finding fun bright fabrics to combine with the zippers to add extra eye candy. I eliminated the felt backing because it added too much weight to the pin. The hand stitching is visible but there are no raw edges exposed.
More information about zipper rosettes can be found on my website, www.sewingbymaudy.com.

Fancy Basket Liners

One of my best customers, Mandy, asked me to create some new liners for 5 bathroom baskets. She described what she wanted and gave me the supplies. Each basket has a liner with a double ruffle which rolls over the top edge. The bottom circumference is smaller than the top and was a bit of a challenge. They turned out lovely and Mandy is happy. Holiday Stocking with chenille

Using faux chenille strips, I have embellished repurposed wedding dress stockings.

Faux Chenille

I have been experimenting with faux chenille. It is a process of cutting wide strips of woven bias cloth and stacking them in 7 layers. Then I stitch parallel lines and cut between the stitching 3 layers on each side. Once all the cutting is complete faux chenille is washed and dryed several times creating a pile nap.

Varsity Jacket Banner

Every time I looked in my closet, I would spot my old varsity jacket. Knowing I would never wear it again but not able to get rid of it, I remade it into a banner.
